Fellow time travelers! We are planning an exciting event in Warwick, a city transformed by suburban growth in the decades after World War II.
Event highlights include:
Keynote address by George Smart, a Modern architecture advocate and creator of the USModernist Radio podcast
11 tours of the Knight Campus, houses designed by Rhode Island Modernist architect Ira Rakatansky, post-WWII neighborhoods of Governor Francis Farms and Garden City, the geology of 19th-century mill villages, Clouds Hill Museum, Warwick cemeteries, and more
12 sessions and workshops exploring Brutalist architecture, community-led interpretation, mapping, Modern houses, preservation futurism, and more

Closing Reception featuring work by CCRI Art Department faculty at the President’s House on the historic Knight Estate
